About the Lubbock Interagency Adoption Council
Founded in February 1980, LIAC (Lubbock Interagency Adoption Council) is a collaboration of the child placing agencies offering Foster and Adoption services in the Lubbock area. Together we promote awareness of adoption and recruit for much needed foster and adoptive families. The mission of LIAC is also to educate the community on adoption issues, to support our foster and adoptive families, and become better advocates for children and families.
Our organization is the only interagency group of its kind in the region. The council meets monthly to discuss possible recruitment efforts as well as retention activities for all child placing agencies in the organization. LIAC is also a community partner for the Heart Gallery of the Texas Panhandle. This traveling photography exhibit is designed to raise awareness of area children waiting for their “forever family.”
