Charitable Giving

LIAC is a nonprofit organization in Lubbock that has been serving the Foster Care Community since 1980. LIAC relies on member dues, grants, and charitable donations to continue the work we are able to do when agencies come together for their community. LIAC uses the funding we receive to support recruitment and retention of foster and adoptive families in Lubbock and the surrounding communities.

Monetary Donations

To make an offline donation, follow these steps:

  1. Write a check payable to Lubbock Interagency Adoption Council.
  2. On the memo line of the check, indicate that the donation is for Lubbock Interagency Adoption Council.
  3. Mail your check to:

Gift-In-Kind Donations

LIAC welcomes gift-in-kind donations from individuals and businesses interested in helping LIAC in our effort to support and recruit foster, adoptive, and kinship families in the Lubbock area.

A W9 is available upon request for donation purposes. If you or your business would like to contribute, please contact Nicky Locker at nlocker@buckner.org.

Foster Parent Appreciation (Annually in May)

May is Foster Parent Appreciation month, and LIAC organizes a joint Foster Parent Appreciation event each year as a way to say Thank You to all the families who care for foster children in the Lubbock area.

Helpful donations for the annual foster parent appreciation event include:

  • Venue for the event
  • Door Prizes (family-friendly items, gift baskets, experiences, gift cards)
  • Food (dinner, dessert)
  • Drinks (tea, lemonade, water)
  • Plates, utensils, napkins, cups
  • Gift cards for 15 Award Ceremony Winners
  • Entertainment
  • Theme decorations
  • We welcome Thank You notes to foster families from Churches or Volunteer Groups!

Foster Care Recruitment (Quarterly)

Lubbock has more children in foster care than we have foster families to care for them. LIAC conducts quarterly joint recruitment events to raise awareness and recruit for new foster/adoptive families in Lubbock and the surrounding communities.

Helpful donations for the quarterly recruitment events include:

  • Light Refreshments
  • Door prizes
  • Advertisement and promotion
